Research Interests

My research interests include business intelligence, knowledge management and social media. Today organizations and decision makers face a tremendous challenge in order to manage growing quantities of data in multiple formats from innumerous origins so that they can be transformed in information to support decision making. This reality is also closely related with the evolution of knowledge management and social media since nowadays human capital and trust play an increasingly important role in what concerns information flow and exchange in organizations with all the consequences this can have in the development of business intelligence platforms and analytical solutions. This is of the upmost importance since ERP data by itself is no longer sufficient to have a complete vision of the business and the external environment. In this context I'm interested in business intelligence solutions that integrate non structured data, text mining, new visualization methodologies, social network analysis and collaborative knowledge management platforms.
