About the Event

Geographic information systems (GIS) are transforming the way stories are reported, particularly environmental and territorial topics where place is central to the issue. This seminar explores how maps can move beyond illustration to become analytical tools that reveal patterns, add context, and strengthen evidence-based storytelling in data journalism.

The session introduces geojournalism and spatial storytelling, shares practical approaches to reporting with maps, and presents The Geojo Project, an Erasmus+ initiative at NOVA IMS, including its objectives, training approach, and course platform (website, learning materials, and online community).

The seminar takes place on March 10 at 6:00 PM, in the Auditorium 102.
