On December 14^th, 2021 it was announced the technical-scientific partnership between Confidencial Imobiliário, market leader in market intelligence generation about real estate in Portugal, and NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS).

To promote proximity between the university and the business world and considering the relevance of Business Intelligence & Analytics in the market, the goal of the protocol is to promote the launch of new sales forecasting tools in the residential market, based on "machine learning" and "data mining" solutions that allow the production of price forecasts that reflect the local structure of each market.

Confidencial Imobiliário is a magazine published since 1988, that specializes in the production of information systems and statistics about the real estate market in Portugal. It develops market intelligence indicators that serve market agents in their investment decisions.

Its focus has been the launch of databases that allow the calculation of statistics directed to the market needs, namely the Residential Information System (SIR). It is a database that brings together information on each property sold by a pool of market agents, namely real estate agents and developers. With a data history dating back to 2007, SIR covers mainland Portugal, focusing on the main cities and metropolitan areas where the market has more expression and relevance.

Miguel de Castro Neto, Associate Dean of NOVA IMS, declares that “the technical and scientific skills that NOVA IMS has in the fields of data science allow us to develop the forecasting models that Confidencial Imobiliário will then implement in its business and providing the necessary technical and scientific resources”.
