AD NOVA IMS and Start Campus (the Sines Transatlantic Renewable & Technology Campus) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening technical and scientific collaboration between the two institutions, with a focus on applied research, advanced training and the development of market-oriented projects.
The partnership is designed to create new opportunities for NOVA IMS students and recent graduates through internships and real-world projects, as well as dissertation work aligned with concrete organizational challenges. The agreement also includes the promotion of professional opportunities within the academic community, reinforcing the link between the school and the technology ecosystem associated with Start Campus.
Among the planned initiatives is the development of a tailor-made master’s curricular unit designed in collaboration with Start Campus, focusing on topics such as critical infrastructure resilience and data-driven energy infrastructures. The objective is to strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and highly complex challenges in organizational environments.
The agreement also includes the awarding of grants associated with six strategic curricular units in areas such as critical infrastructures, Big Data Analytics, cybersecurity, smart and sustainable cities, digital transformation and machine learning operations, promoting student engagement with emerging topics and with the technology ecosystem linked to Sines.
The partnership further includes the creation of a named professorship in Data-Driven Critical Infrastructures, reinforcing investment in specialized training and the development of applied knowledge in this area.
Beyond the academic component, both institutions commit to joint participation in seminars, workshops and other public initiatives, promoting knowledge exchange and closer interaction between students, faculty and industry professionals.
