Biography

Ales Popovic is an Associate Professor of Information Management at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana and visiting professor at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS). He is a lecturer of several courses at the undergraduate and masters degree level. In 2010 he received the Young Professor Award of the year from University of Ljubljana. He holds BS, MSC and Ph.D. degrees in Information Management from the University of Ljubljana. His current main research focuses on business intelligence, information management, and business process management. He is the (co)author of numerous papers in national and international professional and scientific journals. He has collaborated in many applied projects in the areas of business process modeling, analysis, renovation and informatization and in the area of business intelligence. Biography

Jörg Henseler is Professor of Product-Market Relations and head of the Department of Design, Production & Management at the Faculty of Engineering Technology of the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands; Visiting Professor at NOVA Information Management School, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal; and Distinguished Invited Professor in the Department of Business Administration and Marketing at the University of Seville, Spain. His current research focuses on bridging marketing and design research. Jörg Henseler is a leading expert on partial least squares path modeling, he is author of ADANCO, a modern software for variance-based structural equation modeling, and he is co-editor of the Handbook of Partial Least Squares (published with Springer 2010). His scholarly work has been published in Computational Statistics & Data Analysis, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Long Range Planning, MIS Quarterly, Organizational Research Methods, and Structural Equation Modeling, among others. According to Shugan’s Top20, Jörg Henseler’s article on discriminant validity published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science is currently the most impactful marketing article in the world.

Biography

Manuel Vilares is currently a Full Professor at NOVA IMS and a Management Consultant at the Bank of Portugal. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Porto and is a Doctor D'Etat in Sciences Economiques from the University of Dijon. He also has an Aggregation in Econometrics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. From his professional career, he stands out as Chairman of the Restructuring Commission of the National Statistical System and President of the National Statistical Institute. He was also a senior adviser to the European Commission on statistics and economics. Manuel Vilares is the author of several articles and books published in Portugal and abroad, in the areas of statistics, econometrics, economics and consumer behavior, with particular emphasis on customer satisfaction and loyalty models.

Biography

Maria Jordão holds a degree in Statistics and Information Management from NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) and in Economics from ISEG-UTL. She has a master in International Development and Cooperation from ISEG-UTL and an Advanced Studies Diploma in the scope of the Ph.D. Programme in Information Management at NOVA IMS. Since 2010, Maria Jordão teaches several courses in quantitative methods, like Econometrics, Operations Research, Statistics, and Quantitative Methods for Marketing, in both the undergraduate and master Programmes. In addition to the research carried out under her Ph.D., she participated in a project on the outcomes from investment in health. Up to 2010, she was responsible for managing and monitoring public initiatives and projects in the area of Information Society and Knowledge, within the scope of the responsibilities of the Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC), under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education. Maria Jordão also held positions at the National Institute of Statistics, where she was responsible for carrying out a study on large commercial units in Portugal, within the scope of the INE's participation in the Trade Observatory. Currently, Maria Jordão is back to Science and Technology matters, working for the Portuguese public agency that supports science, technology and innovation.

Biography

Pedro Ruivo is a Solution Advisor for digital transformation at SAP and Invited Assistant Professor at the NOVA Information Management School of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He holds a PhD from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Information Management. He has published papers in several academic journals and conferences. He has been developing both professional and academic paths on enterprise management systems from more than fifteen years, in PWC, Navision Software, Microsoft, and currently at SAP. Biography

Helena Baptista is Invited Lecturer at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS). The main scientific research area is spatial statistics, particularly the modelling of spatial phenomena. Helena Baptista lectures forecasting methodologies and Statistics for data science. Helena Baptista also works as a Research Scientist in the advanced business analytics team of a top 10 multinational pharmaceutical company.

Biography

Pedro Sarmento is a researcher at NOVA Cidade - Urban Analytics Lab. He holds a Ph.D in Information Management - Geographic Information Systems and his main research scientific areas are related with smart cities and the accuracy assessment of spatial data. Beside his work in private and public institutions he has a rich background in reserach, having published several papers related to land-cover mapping derived from remote sensing satellite images and as a speaker in international conferences dealing with Spatial Accuracy, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems.

Biography

She holds a PhD from NOVA Information Management School in Information Management, with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems, a MSc in Geographic Information Systems and a BSc in Environmental Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. Research interests include Geostatistics, GIS, Land Use Change Models, Land Administration and Property Rights. She is part of the Research Team of the IPRI/MagIC SIM4SECURITY - Forecast and Spatial analysis Model for Public Security project. At NOVA IMS, she is currently Study Programs Manager and Students' Support Office Liasion Officer.
