Biography

Vasco Monteiro is currently a doctoral student and invited lecturer at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS). He holds a degree in Information Management from the same institute and received the Best Student Finalist Award from the INE. His professional career has begun in the telecommunications sector (9 years), had an experience in a recycling startup for 3 years and since 2001 is consultant in the banking sector. He is currently teaching the disciplines of Knowledge Management, Social Media Analytics and Social Network Intelligence. He has conducted research in the field of ​​Social Network Analysis and Volunteered Geographic Information.

Biography

Frederico Cruz Jesus is Invited Assistant Professor at the NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS), Portugal. His research interests include ICT4D, the digital divide and the adoption of technological innovations by individuals and firms. He has papers published in journals including Information & Management, Computers in Human Behavior, Government Information Quarterly, Information Systems Frontiers, Future Generation Computers Systems, and Journal of Global Information Management.

Since finishing his B.Sc., he has been an enthusiastic analytics´ professional, having undertaken several roles in this area. He started his professional path in the retailing area at Jerónimo Martins, then moved to the banking industry (Barclays Bank) as a SAS Analyst, and then to the insurance sector (Allianz Portugal), where he developed the CRM area in cooperation with Allianz Spain. Presently, his projects in the Analytics field are carried out as an independent consultant.

Biography

Jorge M. Mendes is currently Assistant Professor at Information Management School (NOVA IMS). His research interests range from environmental statistics, biostatistics and survey methodology to quantitative methods for finance and social sciences. He is member of Management Information Centre (MagIC) at NOVAIMS. He was awarded with a bachelor degree in Statistics and Information Management from NOVA University of Lisbon, MSc in Probability and Statistics and PhD in Statistics and Operations Research from University of Lisbon. He is author of dozens of scientific publications both in national and international outlets, being invited as referee on a regular basis. At NOVAIMS he have been coordinating several research and development projects. He supervises, on a regular basis, MSc and PhD students. Often he is invited to be external examiner in MSc and PhD exams in other institutions. He is also member of Portuguese Statistical Society.

Biography

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management (Major in Marketing) from the Neoma Business School (France), with a visiting PhD period at the University of British Columbia (Prof. Darren Dahl) and New York University (Prof. Yaacov Trope). Post-doctoral research project at IE Business School (Spain). BA and MSc Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). He has taught courses in several business schools in France, Brazil and China. His research appears in international peer reviewed ranked journals, including the International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Journal of Brand Management, Journal of Consumer Behavior, and international academic conferences such as the Association for Consumer Research, the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) and the European Marketing Academy (EMAC). Biography

Flávio L. Pinheiro is an Invited Assistant Professor in Data Science at Nova IMS. His research interests focus in understanding how the network structure of socio-economic systems impacts the strategic decisions of agents at different scales. At the macro-level, how does the structure of Economic and Innovation systems impacts the success of agents is constrained when they have to take actions over the elements that make up such systems. At the individual scale, how is the evolution of ideas, diseases, opinions, behaviors and knowledge affected by the social network they are part of.

Biography

Professor of Finance & Economics at NOVA IMS Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Invited Professor at Université Paris-Dauphine PSL in Paris, France. He holds a PhD and BSc in Economics from the University of Évora and a MSc in Monetary in Financial Economics from ISEG Technical University of Lisbon. He is Director of the Postgraduate Programs in Financial Markets and Risks and in Data Science for Finance. He is an Integrated Member of MagIC, NOVA IMS research and development center and integrated member of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) Pensions Institute Scientific Experts Forum in Madrid, Spain and CEFAGE-UE. He Coordinates ORBio - Observatory of Biometric Risks of the Portuguese Life Insured Population, APS - Portuguese Insurers Association. His work is published in prestigious academic journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, Journal of Pension Economics and Finance; Risk Management, Risks, Statistical Journal of the IAOS, Journal of Finance and Economics, International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences, CESifo DICE Report - Journal for Institutional Comparisons, MIT Press and World Bank books. Biography

Paulo Rita is Professor of Marketing at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS), Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Integrated Researcher of the NOVA IMS Research and Development Center (MagIC), International Development Coordinator, Director of the Marketing Analytics Lab as well as Director of the Postgraduation programme in Data Science for Hospitality and Tourism at NOVA IMS, and Executive Committee of the European Marketing Academy.

He is member of the evaluation panel of the Portuguese Science & Technology Foundation (FCT) regarding scholarship applications for Doctoral and Post-Doc Research Projects in Management, Expert Member of the Task Force for the Tourism Research Agenda 2030 of FCT, Member of Evaluation panel for accreditation of Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programmes in Marketing of Universities in Portugal of A3ES, and Visiting Professor at the University of Prague (Czech Republic). He was Professor of Marketing at ISCTE, and Vice President of the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA).

Paulo Rita has habilitation in Marketing (ISCTE), Post-Doc in E-Marketing (University of Nevada Las Vegas, USA), PhD in Marketing (Cardiff University, UK), Certificate of Post-graduation in Research Skills and Quantitative Methods in Management (University of Glasgow, UK) and Bachelor degree in Business Management (ISCTE).

His research interests are focused on digital marketing / social media, consumer behavior / consumer neurosciences, and tourism marketing. Biography

Carlos Tam is an Invited Assistant Professor at NOVA IMS and Senior Technician of Management Information with over 20 years’ banking experience, 15 of which at a mobile and internet division. He holds a Ph.D. from NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS), Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in Information Management. His research interests include business intelligence, knowledge management, management information, performance management, and technology adoption.

Gonçalo Baptista has more than 20 years of experience in the information systems and technology markets. He holds a Ph.D. from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Information Management and specialization in Information and Decision Systems. His research interests include technology adoption, mobile computing, blockchain, and gamification.
