Andrew Harcourt | Managing Director of SAMGarde

Andrew Harcourt is the Managing Director and founder of SAMGarde, as well as the economic empowerment program Pro Bono Friday and the Summum Bonum Fund, a social responsibility project – a subject with which he has a very strong connection. His vast experience in Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) has evolved in over 10 years of managing complex and sensitive IT challenges such as compliance, cyber-governance, cyber-security and vulnerability management, among many others.

José Alegria | Chief Security Officer, Altice Portugal

Before joining Altice Portugal and Portugal Telecom, José Alegria was, going backwards chronologically, CTO of OniTelecom, founder and CEO of BanifServ, Grupo Banif’s IT Company, head of MIS and IT at Grupo BPI (BFE and BBI Banks), member of the executive board of IBM Portugal with the responsibility of the hardware product lines and where he created the prestigious, and still standing, “IBM Portugal Scientific Prize”, head of the EuroAce, Data General’s European Competence Center for Advanced Computing Environments, consultant in computer simulation for the Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Armed Forces where he developed an innovative object oriented discrete simulation system, supported by a “Portuguese-like” declarative language, that enabled the Portuguese Armed Forces to simulate and reorganize their military carriers after the colonial war. He was a founding member of the Informatics Specialty of the Portuguese Engineering Council (“Ordem dos Engenheiros”) and lecturer and researcher in advanced programming languages, object oriented compiler construction and discrete event simulation at The Ohio State University in the USA and at the Department of Informatics of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He started working with mainframes in 1970, with numerical models, at the age of 16. With 18 years old he was an instructor at IBM Angola. Currently, his technical interests are real-time complex event processing and machine learning applied to cyber intelligence and security in addition to dynamic programming languages and environments. He is a SCRUM master.

Rogério Bravo | Chief Inspector Criminal Police

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Postgraduate in Procedural law and Postgraduate in Information Warfare and Competitive Intelligence.

Masters in these two areas of study.

He is a Chief Inspector at the Criminal Police department, placed in the Central Section of Digital Investigation of the Criminal Police; He was Vice-President of the European Union Cybercrime Task Force of EuroPol and of the "INTERPOL European Working Party on IT Crime"; Designated as liaison of the Ministry of Justice and Criminal Police with the National Center for Cybersecurity; He is a Professor in Information Security, in Cybercrime and Digital Research, and in Computer Law, at the Criminal Police School, at the Faculdade de Ciências, at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja and at Instituto CRIAP - Porto; Technologist, author and co-author of several books and academic papers on these topics. Miguel de Castro Neto | Assistant Professor and Associate Dean at NOVA IMS

Miguel de Castro Neto is Assistant Professor and Associate Dean at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) where he leads AD NOVA IMS, the Association for the Development of NOVA IMS, coordinates NOVA Cidade - Urban Analytics Lab, and directs the Post-Graduation program in Smart Cities.

He was Secretary of State of Spatial Planning and Nature Conservation in the XIX and XX Portuguese Government.

Smart Cities Personality of the Year (Green Business Week 2017 / Fundação AIP).

Founder and Vice-President of the Data Science Portuguese Association he is presently President of the Portuguese Engineers Professional Association Agronomy College, coordinator of the Group Cities and Spatial Planning in the think tank Sustainable Growth Platform and President of the Festival Terras Sem Sombra Curators Board. He is founding-partner of the company Agriciência, Consultores de Engenharia, Lda.

He develops his research and teaching in the field of Business Intelligence and Smart Cities.

From his scientific work have resulted, amongst others, articles published in scientific journals such as Computers in Industry, International Journal of Accounting Information, Journal of Global Information Management, International Journal of Electronic Commerce Studies, Industrial Management & Data Systems.

In the context of its teaching activity he was inviteed professor at Universidade Polítecnica de Madrid (Espanha), Tomsk University (Rússia) and Universidade de Cabo Verde, among others.
