My experience in the Master's Degree Program in Risk Analysis and Management has been very enriching, especially because it has a very practical component and because I have had the opportunity to learn from colleagues from all different backgrounds. It's an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to develop their knowledge of risk management as well as data analysis and statistics.

This master's degree has been instrumental in channeling my undergraduate knowledge in Information Management toward the nuanced field of risk, covering both investment and actuarial domains. The curriculum seamlessly integrates theory with practical applications, and the emphasis on programming languages like Python and R adds a valuable dimension to statistical analysis. The combination of these elements has not only enhanced my analytical capabilities but also positioned me as a competitive candidate in the job market. Overall, this Master's program has proven to be a pivotal asset in my professional journey, providing a unique blend of specialized knowledge and practical skills for success in the dynamic field of risk management.

I embarked on my academic journey in the Master's Program in Statistics and Information Management, with a specialization in Risk Analysis and Management, after completing a postgraduate program in Data Science for Finance at NOVA IMS. Both programs emphasize the importance of hands-on experience through team projects. Not only did I develop the skills to work with data, but they also instilled in me the ability to manage my time effectively, balancing the demands of full-time job while advancing my education. A standout aspect of the program for me is the master's thesis, where I enjoyed the autonomy to choose my own research topic while embracing the responsibility of managing my progress. The academic environment encourages the pursuit of excellence, exemplified by the emphasis on publishing research in top journals.

I enrolled in the Master's in Statistics and Information Management right in the midst of the pandemic. Despite the constraints felt by everyone, NOVA IMS always ensured excellence in teaching and student support. I finish this master's degree with the feeling that my learning was not compromised in any way, which reflects the school's excellent and agile ability to adapt to unpredictable circumstances. Currently working in the insurance sector (largely influenced by the interest in actuarial science developed during one of the master's courses), I can confidently say that this program has equipped me with the fundamental foundations to enter this niche on the right foot.
