Description of the activities: Professor Viader Canals held a series of workshops/sessions at NOVA University Lisbon about the EUTOPIA EUROPEAN UNIVERISTY Alliance. These sessions aim to contribute to a better understanding of the EUTOPIA to its new members (NOVA is one of them). A soft introduction of this alliance will also be made for the colleagues at NOVA University Lisbon. One of the most difficult aspects of our project is the correct internal dissemination and reaching out to the community and stakeholders: the impact of these sessions may be very high and contribute to the better understanding among the different institutions at EUTOPIA.
The formative session "EUTOPIA European University Alliance", will take place next Wednesday, March 9th, at 5:30 p.m., led by Professor Pelegrí Viader, of University Pompeu Fabra (Spain). This event will be livestreamed via Zoom.
This session contributed to a better understanding of EUTOPIA for the new members, including NOVA University of Lisbon.
Pelegrí Viader is a Mathematics Assistant Professor at University Pompeu Fabra, Department of Economy and Business. His research areas are Real Analysis (Singular Functions), History of Mathematics (XVIIth Century, Fermat and Descartes) and some Applied Economy (Cournot Oligopoly). Pelegrí has been a long time in UPF's Administration: Dean of the Business School, Secretary-General, Vice-rector adjunct to the Rector, and lately, Rector’s Comissioner for the EUTOPIA Project. In this capacity, Pelegrí has been in the Executive Board of EUTOPIA since its creation and has been responsible, with all the EUTOPIA Vice-presidents, for the strategic design of the Alliance in its present pilot phase and in the new project that aims to create the EUTOPIA EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY. It is in this new enlarged Alliance that LISBOA NOVA has become a full member of EUTOPIA.
