This course aims to empower participants with Business Analytics skills applied to hospitality and tourism. The course will introduce participants to interdisciplinary techniques essential for Business Analytics, such as statistics, data visualization, databases, and machine learning to identify original, useful, and understandable patterns in data.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
Who is it for?
This certification course is intended for young people aged 23 or under, residents in Portugal, who want to acquire Business Analytics skills applied to the areas of tourism and hospitality.
Course Contents
- Introduction to Business Analytics;
- CRISP-DM process model;
- Common data types and introduction to SQL;
- Data characterization and description;
- Understanding data;
- Data communication and visualization;
- Data preparation;
- Building descriptive and predictive models.
General Information
Course Delivery
Dates: Starting from the week of 13th march. 14 two-hour sessions between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., twice a week (tuesday and wednesday) in March and April 2023.
Format: Hybrid (students may choose to attend in person or online via zoom).
Registration: through the form until March 1st.
Registration payment: until March 3rd.
Tuition Fee:
- €100 for residents in Portugal (to be returned at the end with the achievement of certification)*;
*This course has the special support of TIA | PRR, so the tuition fee will be refunded at the end of the course with certification obtained.
The program will only start after the enrollment of at least 20 Students and the special value of the TIA | PRR cannot be combined with other discounts.
Duration and ECTS
This course has a duration of 28 hours and awards 5 ECTS to participants.
Language
The course will be taught in Portuguese (unless there are students who do not have a command of the language).
