Professor Miguel de Castro Neto, Director of NOVA IMS, recently participated in the "Conversas Terra a Terra" series, promoted by the Association of Young Farmers of Portugal (AJAP) in collaboration with Jornal Expresso. The event focused on the agro-energy transition in Portugal.

During his intervention, Miguel de Castro Neto, who served as Secretary of State for Territorial Planning and Nature Conservation in the XIX and XX Constitutional Governments of the Portuguese Republic, stated that making agriculture more environmentally friendly remains a complex challenge but presents a wide range of opportunities.

According to the Director of NOVA IMS, a paradigm shift in agriculture management and planning is necessary to make the sector more efficient and sustainable in production processes. In this sense, the solutions to address this challenge must necessarily involve a multifaceted and integrated approach, leveraging technologies for data collection and aiding in informed decision-making.
