Miguel Agrochão

Miguel Martins Agrochão is a Portuguese economist with a degree in Economics from the Economics Faculty of the New University of Lisbon and a Master's degree in Economics and Public Policy from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management of the Technical University of Lisbon. He also holds a Course in Advanced Studies in Public Management from the National Institute of Administration.

Throughout his career, Miguel Agrochão has held various positions in the Portuguese Public Administration, including Director of Strategy and Prospective Services at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers since June 2020. Before that, he was Director of Financial and Accounting Services at the same institution between 2017 and 2020, Head of Planning and Evaluation Division at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers between 2013 and 2017, and senior technician at the Financial and Accounting Services Directorate since 2010.

In addition, Miguel Agrochão served as Guest Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Lusófona, teaching the curricular units of Macroeconomics and Public Finance in the degree (1st Cycle) of Public Administration and Management, European and Portuguese Economics in the degree (1st Cycle) of Accounting and Administration and Public Accounting in the degrees (1st Cycle) of Accounting and Administration and Public Administration and Management.

Among other activities, Miguel Agrochão was also Senior Consultant at the company Ernst & Young Audit & Associados -SROC, S. A., under unpaid leave in Public Administration (2012-2013) and Member of the Executive of the Parish Council of Carnide, with the treasury and finance, heritage, education, sports and health divisions between 2005 and 2012. Since November 2020, he has also been a substitute member of the Higher Council of Statistics.
