NOVA IMS and Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto launch a digital platform dedicated to the region
Detalhe da Notícia
On December 16th, NOVA IMS and Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto (IVDP) presented the Digital Knowledge Platform for the Demarcated Douro Region, to create awareness and involving everyone in the definition and dissemination of the wine policy for the Demarcated Douro Region.
In order to provide easy, fast and transparent access to the most recent data and evolution trends, the IVDP+ Project invested in the development of an interoperable territorial information system with open data that can be integrated and consulted by different users, constituting an important aid in supporting decision-making and an essential tool for transferring knowledge. It allows all those involved in the value chain to get closer, to share information and knowledge on the grape to the glass through data on the region, harvest, grape transit, production, certification, and markets.
In partnership with NOVA Cidade Urban Analytics Lab, two IVDP + Project activities were applied regarding the "Design and implementation of the interactive digital knowledge platform" and the "Design and implementation of the intelligent management portal for the wine sector", in order to provide a response to the market of greater quality and efficiency, respecting all internationally recognised certification parameters.
Miguel de Castro Neto, Associate Dean of NOVA IMS, declares that "It's very important that winemakers plan their campaigns, but it's also very important that they look at different stages of the circuit from grape to glass, how they can be articulated in a virtuous way so that we can exploit the potential of digital transformation and build new approaches."
