The 2^nd Edition of the Huawei Scholarship Program was held at the end of April, aiming to support the development of skills among students from academic communities in Portugal, providing a more enriching and far-reaching academic experience.

This program is aimed at students in the areas of Science, Engineering, Management and Information Systems (STEM), among other related areas, and consists in the attribution of 50 scholarships, of €5,000 each, distinguishing students in terms of academic and personal merit.

In 2023, more than 5000 applications were made and among the 50 awarded, Rita dos Santos Lopes Bessa Pacheco stood out, a 1^st year student at NOVA IMS, of the Master’s Degree in Information Management, with specialization in Business Intelligence.

According to the student's statements, "having been awarded with one of the 50 scholarships, among more than 5300 applications, made me feel valued and rewarded in terms of the effort dedicated until today in my academic career". She also highlighted that “this initiative focused on university students of Engineering and Science goes beyond financial aid, it represents above all the investment in national talent as a promoter of change and development”. The student ends, sharing that this program generates hope for a more equal future in the areas of technology, since 50% of the grants were awarded to women.
