On May 15^th, the Professor and Associate Dean of NOVA IMS, Miguel de Castro Neto wrote an opinion article published in the Senado do Semanário Novo under the theme: "We are the communities we build".

Miguel de Castro Neto says that smart and sustainable cities are naturally associated with technology, but the focus of action is not technology, but people.

According to the Professor and Associate Dean of NOVA IMS, "it is now unquestionable that cities are only smart if they are able to build communities, to create conditions for the human scale to be the stage for political action, and for urban space to sustain and leverage interaction and bonding between people."
