The article "Genetic Programming Needs Better Benchmarks", developed by professors Mauro Castelli and Leonardo Vanneschi of NOVA IMS, in collaboration with a group of researchers from several other nationalities, will receive an international award, the SIGEvo Impact Award, in the GECCO 2022 conference, which will take place from July 9th to 13th in Boston.

In the paper several contributions are presented to introduce a set of new test problems or "benchmarks" for Genetic Programming.

For Pedro Saraiva, Dean of NOVA IMS, "this is another important recognition of the international scientific quality and impact of the research activities developed at NOVA IMS."
