NOVA Center for Global Health Lab_2
Mission
The mission of the NOVA IMS Center for Global Health is to promote the generation and sharing of knowledge in Global Health policies, with a focus on the use of digital technologies, data science, and information management. The center aims to equip decision-makers and key agents in global health with tools that accelerate the translation of scientific recommendations into public policies, legislation, interventions, and education, with the goal of improving health indicators and generating value.
This lab also contributes to Portugal's integration into international networks of health system governance, prevention, and resilience, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and key European and multilateral agencies focused on Global Health.
Objectives
- Develop and Promote Evidence-Based Policies: Support the creation and dissemination of health policies grounded in scientific evidence, with a focus on global health.
- Develop and Apply Innovative Solutions to Assess Health Policies: Create methodologies to analyze the impact of policies in the health sector.
- Collect and Manage Health Data: Promote the collection, processing, and use of data as an essential tool for evaluation and governance, with a focus on value in healthcare.
- Empower Health Policy Decision-Makers: Support the training and capacity development of political decision-makers in the health sector.
- Establish and Strengthen International Health Partnerships: Foster strategic collaborations within networks of scientific, educational, and governance cooperation in the health sector.
