Biography
António Monteiro is an Invited Professor at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS), where he holds a PhD in Information Management, with research focused on Project Governance. He also holds a Master’s degree in Information Management with a specialization in Information Systems and Technology Management (NOVA IMS), a postgraduate degree in Information Systems Management (ISCTE), and a bachelor’s degree in Management Informatics (UAL).
At NOVA IMS, he lectures and coordinates undergraduate, postgraduate, and master’s-level courses in Project Management, including Information Project Management (and its advanced course) and Information Systems Project Management. He also is the Program Director of the Postgraduate Program in Project Management at ISG – Business & Economics School. He is a researcher and author of peer-reviewed publications in leading international scientific journals. His research focuses on project governance, portfolio management, predictive and agile methodologies, and information systems. Holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification and is an Authorized Training Partner (ATP) Instructor certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI), contributing to the integration of academic research and professional practice in project management education.
He brings over 25 years of professional experience in information technology, having held senior leadership roles such as IT Director, Head of IT, and Senior Manager across multiple industries. His professional expertise includes leading enterprise-wide initiatives, aligning technology solutions with organizational strategy and processes through effective IT governance, and managing the full lifecycle of large-scale IT projects. He has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects with measurable business value.
