Biography
Flávio Ivo Riedlinger de Magalhães holds a PhD in Economics (Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão – University of Lisbon) and is an Assistant Professor at the Portuguese Military Academy. He teaches courses in Information Systems, Public Finance, Investment Analysis, Economics, and Auditing. His research focuses on algorithmic trading and Markov chains, and he has authored more than 10 scientific publications in econometrics, finance, and stochastic processes, including articles in indexed international journals such as Asia-Pacific Financial Markets and Statistical Papers. He has participated in national and European projects such as HORIZON-EUSPA, DIGITAL-EDIH, and PLACE – Career Support Platform for the Army. He has worked as a researcher at CEMAPRE (ISEG), the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (Brazil), and the Centre for Advanced Studies in Finance (United Kingdom), and as a senior consultant in asset valuation and quantitative market modeling. His career combines analytical, technological, and teaching skills, applying quantitative methods to decision support in financial and institutional contexts.
