Biography
Bruno Horta Soares holds a Bachelor’s in Management and Computer Science (ISCTE) and completed the Executive Program in Project Management (ISLA Campus Lisboa). He is an executive advisor and university professor with over 20 years of experience in Governance, Digital Transformation, Risk Management, and Security. He began his career at global firms such as Deloitte and KPMG before founding GOVaaS – Governance Advisors as-a-Service in 2012, where he serves as Senior Advisor. From 2015 to 2025 he was Leading Executive Senior Advisor at IDC Portugal, advising top executives on digital transformation, governance, strategy, and security. He lectures in Master’s programs, MBAs, and Executive Education at institutions including NOVA SBE, NOVA IMS, Católica Lisbon, ISCTE, ISEG, and Porto Business School, covering topics such as IT governance, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and AI for leadership. He holds international certifications such as PMP®, CISA®, CGEIT®, CRISC™, ITIL®, ISO/IEC 27001 LA, and COBIT® 2019 Trainer, and is a Certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Facilitator. Recognized with the ISACA John Kuyers Award for Best Speaker 2019, he is the founder and president of the ISACA Lisbon Chapter, a keynote speaker at global conferences, and a mentor to organizations and professionals. In the public sphere, he co-founded the political party Iniciativa Liberal and ran for Mayor of Lisbon in 2021. He also leads a tourism development project in Alentejo, combining entrepreneurial vision with sustainable growth.
