Teresa Magalhães (ENSP-NOVA)
Coordinator
Assistant Professor in the areas of information management in health, digital health and information systems at the National School of Public Health of the Nova University of Lisbon and Coordinator of the Health Information Management Group of the Portuguese Association of Hospital Administrators. She holds a PhD in public health, having worked in recent years in the research and promotion of digital health, having in her curriculum several projects in the area. She is also a Hospital Administrator having worked over the last few years as CEO of the Red Cross Hospital, Member of the Hospital Center of Setúbal, Advisor for Innovation at the University Hospital Center of Lisbon Norte (CHULN) and Administrator of the Departments of Heart and Vessels and Pediatrics of CHULN. She is a member of the Comprehensive Health Research Center of the Nova University of Lisbon and belongs to the EHMA Scientific Advisory Committee and the Innovation and Value and Sustainability Councils of the Nova University of Lisbon. She was a consultant for Accenture in Portugal.
Guilherme Victorino (NOVA IMS)

Guilherme Martins Victorino is the Director of the NOVA Innovation & Analytics Lab and an assistant professor at NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) in the areas of Design Thinking, Change and Knowledge Management and coordinates the Post-Graduation Course in Information Management and Business Intelligence in Healthcare. He is also coordinator of the Design Thinking course at the NOVA Doctoral School, accompanying PhD students in disruptive innovation processes. He as a career of more than 15 years in senior management positions in the sectors of Healthcare, Media and Telecommunications. Guilherme is a certified trainer in Design Thinking and Change Management, having the opportunity of working on new approaches to innovation in reference companies in Portugal, Brazil, Australia and the United States in diverse organizational challenges using design thinking methods and empowering people through the use of co-creation and advanced simulators.

Miguel Cabral Pinho (ENSP-NOVA)

Miguel Cabral is a Public Health Medical Doctor in the Public Health Unit of Maia/Valongo, and a student in the Specialization Course of Hospital Administration in the NOVA National Public Health School. He has collaborated in Health Information Systems of the Public Health Specialization Course at NOVA National Public Health School since 2019. He has extensive experience in NGO work, both nationally and internationally, and has been until recently the VicePresident of the Human Rights Committee in the Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe. He has been part of several working teams on spreading the concepts of Digital Health. Since 2011 he has been a member of the organizing team for the first Health 2.0 Pre-General Assembly workshop of the International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA) 2020. He is part of the Portuguese Association of Health Administrators (APAH) Information Management Working Group.
João Valente Cordeiro (ENSP-NOVA)

João Valente Cordeiro is an Invited Professor of Health Law, Biolaw and Bioethics at the National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon and a health lawyer. He has done biomedical research for over ten years during which he worked in five multidisciplinary research labs in three European countries. He worked with bacteria and virus models using animal systems and human cell lines and has published work in high impact top scientific journals. During his biomedical research career, he became increasingly interested in the ethical, legal and social implications of science and technology, which led him to also pursue studies in Law and Ethics. For the last years he has focused on the interface between Health, Science, Technology, Law and Ethics and is actively involved in researching and teaching in the areas of Digital Health, Precision Medicine and Public Health, while also practicing law as a Health lawyer.

Ana Rita Pedro, PhD in Public Health, is a Researcher at the National School of Public Health of Nova University of Lisbon and in the Comprehensive Health Research Center (CHRC). She is the author and co-author of several articles in specialized journals and works in the area of Medical Sciences and Health, with emphasis on Health Sciences and Public Health. Her research areas are Health Literacy, Social Health Perceptions, Health Policies, Health Information Systems, Shared Decision on Health Care and Adherence to Therapy. In her curriculum the most frequent terms in the contextualization of scientific production are: Health Literacy; Access to health care; Health policy; Shared Decision Making; Health Information Systems; Surveys; Validation studies; Public Health; Medication Adherence.

Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Strategies. Integrated member of the CISP- CHRC. Principal Investigator of the PAFSE project "Partnerships for Science Education" funded by the Horizon 2020 program through grant agreement No. 101006468. PhD in Public Health from ENSP-NOVA, in the specialization branch of Health Policy, Management and Administration, having developed, in the context of her PhD, a model of success factors for public health projects.
Areas of interest: planning, action and education in public health, project management, management by business processes, innovation, entrepreneurship, value creation in health.
Cláudia Delgado Simão (EURECAT)

Claudia Delgado Simão is the leader of the Printed Sensors and Actuators research group at Fundació Eurecat, in Barcelona Spain. She obtained her MSc degree in Chemistry at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (Portugal) in 2007 and her PhD in Materials Science in Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) in 2011. She has participated in multiple national and European projects, is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and patent applications and received several awards for her research. Her research interests are focused on autonomous low power sensor devices, to set new advancements in soft electronics for Digital Health, enabled by functional materials, surface engineering and printing technology.
She focuses in connecting science and business in her coordination of public and private funded research, development and innovation projects, and bring digital health sensors from concept to market.
Gonçalo Vilaça (NOVA)

Gonçalo Vilaça is a healthcare & life sciences venture builder and executive.
He currently serves as the Executive Director of NOVA Health at NOVA University Lisbon, where he is building a leading European medical school, shaping the future of health education and creating a new health tech innovation ecosystem. He is also part of Portugal Ventures’ digital & health tech expert group and an advisor to impact startups.
Prior to that, he was COO at Tonic App, a VC backed Portuguese digital health startup that successfully raised more than 4M and scaled across Europe; Co-Founder at Alcea Advisors, a pan-European Paris based VC firm to grow and accelerate the most innovative European startups in oncology; an Engagement Manager with the Oliver Wyman Group based in Paris and London leading M&A, finance and healthcare analytics engagements for public and private clients in Europe, North America and Asia. He was also a Founding Member of Health Parliament Portugal where he campaigned the use of social impact bonds in mental health and was part of a team that successfully pushed for policy changes to improve the lives of people with mental illness.
Gonçalo has been a Professor at HEC Paris, Toulouse School of Economics and NOVA IMS. He holds a MPhil in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from Toulouse School of Economics, a MSc in Economics from NOVA SBE and a Certificate in Biotechnology and Systems Biology from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Helena Canhão, MD,PhD. Professor of Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Nova university of Lisbon, Visiting Professor of Epidemiology, National School of Public Health, Nova university of Lisbon, Responsible for the Rheumatology Unit, CHULC-Hospital Santo António dos Capuchos and Coordinator of the Rheumatology Unit of The CUF Tejo Hospital.
She is President of the Portuguese Society of Rheumatology. Graduated, PhD and Aggregated in Medicine (Rheumatology) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, she also holds a Master's degree in Clinical Research from Harvard Medical School, Harvard University, USA. Leads the EpiDoC Research Unit in Epidemiology and Clinical Research, CEDOC, Faculty of Medical Sciences and is coordinator of the FCT Research Unit, Comprehensive Health Research Center (CHRC).
She is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of AICIB and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Value for Health Collaborative Laboratory, a member of the Council of the New University of Lisbon, member of the Board of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon and its Scientific Council. Co-leader and Medical Responsible for the Patient Innovation Project and principal investigator of several national and international research projects.
She is the author of more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and books and book chapters in medicine, rheumatology, aging, innovation and clinical research.

Tiago Oliveira is a Full Professor of Information Management, Associate Dean for Research and Doctoral Studies at the NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS), and Coordinator of the Ph.D. in Information Management. His research interests include technology adoption, digital exclusion, and privacy. Julian Perelman is currently an associate professor at the National School of Public Health (NOVA University of Lisbon) and vice-president of the Health Technology Assessment Commission. He was between 2018 and 2020 coordinator of the Mission Structure for Sustainability of the Health Budget Program. PhD in Economics at the Université Catholique de Louvain, he is the author of more than 80 publications in indexed scientific journals, mainly on the topics of evaluation of health technologies and policies, health inequality, health financing and caregivers.

Associate Professor with Aggregation of the Health Systems’ Policies and Management Department and member of the Public Health Research Center (CISP). He currently serves as Deputy Director of ENSP-NOVA and is a member of the Pedagogical Council, Scientific Council and Management Council.
His areas of research interest are vertical integration of health care, financing of health care organizations, costing methodologies in health care organizations and risk adjustment. With a professional experience of over 15 years, in addition to his academic activity, he has worked as a Hospital Administrator and worked at the Arthur Andersen company.
Rafael Franco (SPMS)

Rafael Franco is currently Coordinator of the Laboratory of Innovation in Telehealth, one of the units of the National Center for Telehealth (SPMS, E.P.E.). He has a Master's degree in Health Services Management from ISCTE - Instituto Universitário. Graduated in nursing, he began his professional career as a Health Consultant motivated by the interest in new organizational models, with a focus on information and communication technologies and digital health. Has collaborated with the National School of Public Health, in the discipline of Project Management, in the area of Leadership and Conflict Management.
Magdalene Rosenmöller (IESE BS)

Magdalene Rosenmöller is senior lecturer in the Department of Production, Technology and Operations Management at IESE Business School. She teaches the second-year MBA elective course on health sector management and in other management institutions across Europe, Latin America, Africa) and Asia.
She is the Academic Director of CRHIM - the IESE Centre for Research in Health Innovation Management. She holds a Ph.D. in health policy from the University of London, UK; an M.D. from the Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg, France, and an MBA from IESE Business School, Spain. She has been working with the World Bank, the European Commission and the European Parliament among others. She has extensive experience in global health policy and health research issues. Currently she has a leading role in EIT Health, in the innovation, accelerator and education area. One of her favorite projects is WEHealth, the Women Entrepreneurship Health Program.

Maria João Jacinto is the Executive Director of Patient Innovation. She is also a postdoctoral contracted at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics for research focus on 'Revolutionizing Healthcare: Empowering patients by valuing innovation and promoting entrepreneurship'. Maria João Jacinto received her Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering framed in MIT Portugal program, and her MSc in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico; Maria João Jacinto has a strong background in Engineering and Technology sciences. Currently, Maria João research is focused on user innovation in healthcare, namely the patient innovation phenomenon, related to the Patient Innovation platform, by increasing the number and quality of the solutions developed by patients that are published in the online platform with medical supervision, as well as to promote contact with innovators and support them in various areas. Maria João had different international collaboration and research experiences as her master thesis in University of Ghent, in European bioengineering research projects and part of her PhD thesis in University of Houston, Texas, USA.

Paul Lacharmoise (EURECAT)

Paul Lacharmoise obtained his PhD in physics in 2009 at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB), working in the characterization of nanostructures using optical techniques with high sensitivity and spatial resolution. He has investigated organic semiconductors in the field of single molecule spectroscopy and near field photoluminescence of organic nanocrystals. Later, he shifts towards applied research in the field of printed electronics, especially in organic photovoltaic and optoelectronic flexible devices. He is responsible for the development of new manufacturing processes of organic solar cells based on inkjet printing and roll-to-roll coating. He is co-author of >20 reviewed journal papers and has been involved in several research projects in printed electronics both at European and Spanish level. In 2013, He is named scientific director at Cetemmsa Technological Center (latter Eurecat). Currently he leads the "Functional printing & Embedded Devices" Unit at Eurecat Technological Centre, which specializes in printed electronics, sensors and actuators, structural electronics and smart engineering. The unit has developed several technologies in the field of Digital Health at Hw level, as for example point-of-care devices based on printed chemical and bio sensors, or wearables for health monitoring.

Roberto Henriques is currently Associate Professor at NOVA Information Management School of the NOVA University of Lisbon, where he is deputy director for Teaching and Pedagogical Affairs. He is director of the Master's degree in Data Science and Advanced Analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Management (NOVA), a Master's degree in Science and Geographic Information Systems and a degree in Biophysical Engineering. The interest of his research includes data analysis and decision support systems using artificial intelligence and machine learning. His work has been published in several international magazines and conferences of high quality and reputation. He has also managed and participated in numerous knowledge transfer and innovation projects in several areas such as health, marketing and CRM, among others.

Associate Professor at ENSP, with a degree and PhD in Law, she coordinates the Department of Social Sciences in Health and the scientific committee of the PhD Program in Public Health at ENSP. She is a member of the General Council of NOVA and the Commission of the Doctoral School of the same university.
She integrates the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA) and collaborates with CISP - Center for Research in Public Health.
Her main areas of academic interest are law and ethics applied to health, including legislative, social, and economic policies in disease prevention and promotion of healthy lifestyles without violence. She has taught, intervened, and published nationally and internationally on topics such as human rights, suicide prevention, confidentiality and protection of health and genetic data, communicable diseases, patient safety, patients' rights and duties, biobanks and genomic editing.

Jorge Tavares holds a PhD in Information Management a Master in Statistics and Information Management and a degree in Pharmaceuticals sciences. During the last 20 years worked both Professionally and Academically in health, eHealth and pharmaceutical industry. Currently he is Strategic Planning Director (Europe Region) in a multinational Pharmaceutical company. From the academic standpoint started his career path in the Faculty of Pharmacy (Lisbon University) in cutaneous bioengineering, doing biostatistics analysis and modeling. More recently at NOVA IMS developed scientific work in the field of eHealth and statistical adoption models, with papers published in top journals in the field of health information management and medical informatics. Currently he is also a regular invited reviewer in top journals and speaker in international congresses. He is also an invited Professor in postgraduations in the healthcare field.
Filipe Freitas Pinto (Knok)

Filipe Freitas Pinto is a Medical Doctor specialized in Psychiatry and Mental Health. Works as Chief Medical Officer at knokcare, being part of its founding team and having also been the Medical Director and Country Manager for Portugal since 2015. Manages a team of more than 250 doctors and designs/implements digital health programs for primary care. Has an important experience in regulatory clinical research, in the roles of Research Physician and Principal Investigator for early-phase studies for new medicines. Since 2016 has taken part in more than 120 clinical trials with BlueClinical. Has been the head of Medical Writing at BlueClinical since January 2019 and presently occupies the role of Director of Business Development and Medical Writing. Is also a frequent lecturer in the subjects of Digital Health in the context of post-graduation courses. Is a Ph.D. student in Neurosciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.

João Magalhães is a Medical Doctor and an experienced entrepreneur, with a dream of creating software that saves lives. João has a Masters degree in medicine with a thesis on electronic health records interoperability. During his medical years, he was a teaching assistant for
biostatistics and medical informatics and currently has been invited to lecture in Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (FMUP) for both medical and medical informatics students. He has been programming since a young age, and working with many clients as a freelancer while taking the medical degree. Before being a co-founder & CTO of knok healthcare, João had founded two other successful healthcare startups, so he has a deep inside-out understanding of the technological barriers and opportunities in medicine.

José Bastos is an experienced senior manager, driven by his dream of providing universal healthcare to the world. As co-founder & CEO of knok Healthcare, his goals include empowering every person on the planet to have access to quality and affordable health care. José has a degree in Management from the University of Oporto and a Mergers and Acquisition Programme from the University of Chicago - Booth, and he is fluent in Portuguese, English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Before knok, he worked for 17 years in Finance and Strategic Planning at a multinational. He has managed international and multicultural teams and developed businesses in a global context. In 2015, he co-founded knok healthcare, growing it from zero to market leadership in telemedicine in Portugal, and clients in 12 other countries.

Daniel Beirão is a physician, specialist in General and Family Medicine. He works as a doctor at the Social Action Services of the University of Porto and at Hospital da Luz. He is Deputy Clinical Director of Hospital da Luz Guimarães and a member of the Superior Clinical Board of Luz Saúde. Medical Expert at the Social Security Institute and has the competence in Medical Expertise in Social Security by the Medical Association. He is a guest assistant at the Department of Community Medicine, Information and Decision in Health (MEDCIDS) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. He is a researcher at Cintesis at the University of Porto. He holds a Masters in Management and Health Services Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto and is a Ph.D. student in Clinical Research and Health Services at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. He is a member of Knok's scientific and clinical committee.

Célia F. Cruz is a specialist in Regulatory and Quality Affairs of medical device software. She is founder and Head of Regulatory Affairs at Complear, a startup that helps digital healthcare companies across Europe optimize their medical device certification and compliance, where she supported many companies with regulatory strategy, regulatory submission, and quality system compliance. She is a member of TOPRA, where she leads the sub-SPIN on software as a medical device. PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering.
