Micro-accreditation in Smart Sustainable Cities (<=23)

The Micro-accreditation in Smart Sustainable Cities aims to introduce participants to the role digital transformation and information management is playing in the construction of more efficient and climate neutral cities and its scientific study.

The course will explore solutions that improve the quality of life of the population, sustainable development and social cohesion, while promoting a more efficient use of resources and responding to the challenges of climate change. It will also address open data and its influence on the development and implementation of a smart sustainable city.

By the end of the course the students will understanding of the methodologies, concepts and case studies related to the implementation and development of a smart sustainable city, based on the latest technological advances and also with the support of NOVA Cidade – Urban Analytics Lab (http://www.novacidade.pt).

Who is it for?

This certification course is intended for young people aged 23 or younger, residents in Portugal, who want to understand the methodologies, concepts and case studies related to the implementation and development of a smart sustainable city.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the course, the students will be able to:

Understand the concept of smart and sustainable cities;
Know the most important approaches to develop smart and sustainable cities;
Identify the most relevant verticals that contribute to smart and sustainable cities;
Know the most relevant approaches to build city intelligence platforms;
Understand the role of urban analytics and visualization tools in the planning and management of smart and sustainable cities.

General Information

Course Delivery

Dates: The classes will start in February 2024, running in working hours (Thursdays from 10h00 to 13h00).

Format: On-site.

Entry Requirements:

To enter this program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be aged 23 years or less;
Be proficient in English (spoken and written).

Registration: through the form until August 25^th.

Registration payment: until August 29^th.

Tuition Fee:

€100 for residents in Portugal (to be returned at the end with the achievement of certification)*;

* This course has the special support of TIA | PRR, so the tuition fee will be refunded at the end of the course with certification obtained.

The program will only start after the enrolment of at least 15 Students and the special value of the TIA | PRR, cannot be combined with other discounts.

Duration and ECTS

This course has a duration of 42 hours and awards 4 ECTS to participants.

Language

The course will be taught in English.
