Master's Degree in Statistics and Information Management

The Master's Program in Statistics and Information Management trains experts and managers to lead and conduct the collection, organization, analysis, and exploration of information, offering organizations basic skills to transform data into value.

The Master Degree Program in Statistics and Information Management is designed to include two alternative paths (specializations):

  • Data Analytics: aimed at everyone whose concern for analysis and treatment of information is critical to perform their roles, namely managers and technical staff involved in information production for strategic decision-making support in organizations. Marketing technical staff and managers, experts in market research and CRM, Information technologies managers, technical staff of Risk Management, Information systems managers, are among the target groups of this program.
  • Health Data Science and Analytics: is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to develop advanced skills in data analysis and information management to support strategic decision-making. This specialization focuses on the application of analytical methods to health sciences, the management of large volumes of data, and the understanding of technological innovation, preparing students to address current challenges in the healthcare sector through a data-driven approach.

The former specialization in Risk Analysis and Management became an independent program starting in the 2025–2026 academic year and is now titled the Master in Risk Management. Despite the change in name, the program’s objectives remain the same: it is designed for senior and mid-level professionals in financial and non-financial organizations, as well as other professionals with responsibilities in risk management. The program is recognized as the top Master’s in Risk Management in Portugal and the second best in the World in the 2025 Eduniversal ranking.
