Joana Loureiro

Graduated in Management from Universidade Católica, Joana Loureiro was one of the first foreign students to do an Erasmus in Poznan, Poland where she took the opportunity to do an internship at Eurocash stores within the Jerónimo Martins Group. In 2000, after completing her degree, Joana Loureiro joined Telecel and became part of the team that launched Yorn. A year later, she went to the United States where she completed a post-graduate degree in Management at Harvard University and became aware of the importance of non-profit organizations. In 2003, back in Portugal, she worked at Brandia as head of the social responsibility area. Between 2005 and 2009, she managed the non-profit start-up Junior Achievement, putting the Portuguese counterpart on the map of the organization in Europe. Feeling that her mission had been accomplished, she decided to take a break to enjoy the two children that had been born in the meantime.

In 2010, 11 years after her internship at Eurocash in Poland, she returned to Jerónimo Martins in the Human Resources area. She participated in defining Human Resources policies that were transversal to Portugal and Poland, and was part of the project team that launched the Group's first stores in Colombia. Between 2013 and 2019, she worked in various areas of Jerónimo Martins: as a regional operations manager for Recheio, the Cash&Carry business, she led the foodservice business of the same company and held management positions in the area of own-brand development for Pingo Doce and Recheio.

Between 2019 and 2021, she was a partner at Transearch, an Executive Search company, and returned to the Jerónimo Martins Group at the end of 2021 to take on the role of Head of Employer Branding & Talent Acquisition.
