GEOJO Project launches at NOVA IMS

Detalhe da Notícia

The GEOJO project, dedicated to advancing geospatial data storytelling in environmental journalism, officially launched on November 21st with a kick-off meeting at NOVA IMS in Lisbon.

The event brought together representatives from all partner institutions involved in this Erasmus+ funded initiative, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to bridge journalism and Earth sciences.

Coordinated by NOVA IMS under the leadership of Professor Vitor Santos, GEOJO aims to equip students with skills in geospatial analysis, AI technologies, and storytelling to address climate change and environmental challenges. Key goals include developing an interdisciplinary curriculum, creating innovative learning tools, and establishing an online platform to connect journalists, educators, and scientists.

Partners from Portugal, Italy, Greece, Kosovo, and Albania bring expertise in journalism, environmental science, and education, ensuring a holistic approach to the project. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, GEOJO is set to make a lasting impact on journalism and environmental advocacy across Europe and beyond.
